Similar to the Epidemic currently taking place in the Northeast this year, but this time instead of heroin, cocaine is now being mixed with Fentanyl. Fentanyl is close to 80 to 100 times more potent than morphine and more potent than heroin. This deadly combination, cocaine and Fentanyl, killed 3 men in North Carolina this past weekend. A Bear Creek man, Michael Currie, 42, died at his home while Randal Welch, 24, and Perry Saunders, 23, died at another residence in Bear Creek North Carolina. As well as 10 other people who were in critical condition from this powerful drug combination. Active in addiction we are always seeking how we can allow our next high to feel just as good as it did the first time we used drugs and alcohol. By becoming willing to try any combination or increasing the amount of alcohol or a drugs we are taking so that we could get the same effects as before, we are knocking on death’s door. I feel frightened for what unregulated combination of powerful narcotics is in store for our country and I pray we find a way to prevent this from happening in the future.
