Intensive Outpatient Program
The Last Resort Recovery provides all levels of care for men recovering from addiction. Among our most popular offerings is our intensive outpatient program (IOP). This highly structured treatment protocol provides the accountability, evidence-based care, and client education needed for lasting recovery.
Who is a Candidate for IOP?
IOP is ideal for clients who do not require detoxification or 24/7 clinical oversight. This program allows for greater flexibility and does not require clients to reside at The Last Resort. While members of our residential treatment program will stay on The Last Resort’s campus, those participating in IOP continue to live at home.
IOP is intended for those who want to pursue addiction treatment, but also have:
This final bullet point is crucial. Family members and friends of outpatient clients should be prepared to support their loved one in ways indicated by the center. If you currently live with people who will continue to drink or use drugs, you may want to consider one of our long-term residential treatment options instead.
What to Expect
Our intensive outpatient program is designed to maximize your time at The Last Resort. Participants can expect to receive a minimum of 10 clinical service hours each week. Sessions are flexible and are tailored to your schedule, ensuring that you have time for work, school, and family commitments.
Some sessions are one-on-one; in these, your therapist will help you identify the deep-seated issues fueling your addiction. Our therapeutic approaches vary from client to client. They are combined for maximum effectiveness, and may include:
The remaining sessions will take place in a group setting. This provides the fellowship, support, and socialization you need to prepare for a life in recovery.
IOP groups may cover subjects like coping mechanisms, drug and alcohol education, and relapse prevention. They may cover topics specific to people in certain professions, like professionals and members of the military. The Last Resort’s programs also include a family group component; in these sessions, you will learn how to deal with substance use disorder as a family unit.
Finally, our IOP offerings include random drug and alcohol screenings. This helpful tool allows our staff to identify relapse in a timely manner. From this point, we can ensure that the client re-engages, receives the help they need, and is matched with an appropriate level of care.
