Customized Treatment for Mens Rehab Specifically

The Last Resort staff customizes our high-quality treatment programs to meet the unique needs of each of our patients. We believe the personalized approach leads to a higher level of care and better results in recovery. If you are a man struggling with substance abuse in Texas, The Last Resort can change your life with rehab that fits you who are and what you need, including long-term treatment programs that last up to 90 days. It’s clear that men and women have different needs when it comes to addiction treatment, for a couple of reasons.

First, men have different societal standards than women. They’re expected to support their families and always be strong — feeling like you’re failing at this can drive you to addiction. Mens rehab treatment should address these specific needs and issues. In addition, men don’t always respond to therapies the same way as women do. Our staff members understand this and provide treatment accordingly.

What a Day in Addiction Recovery Looks Like

The Last Resort Recovery Schedule covers a variety of types of treatments and therapies. Throughout the day, the clients in our mens rehab residential treatment program participate in individual therapy sessions, group therapy, and recreational activities. Working through these various programs helps men begin to overcome their addictions in a rounded treatment approach.

Men in our program also receive strong recovery support from outside 12 step programs as well as their families. In fact, we ask family members to sign a family support contract when their loved ones begin a recovery program at The Last Resort Recovery.

Innovative Programs

The staff at The Last Resort believe in meeting the emotional, physical, psychological and spiritual needs of all of our clients, in an atmosphere that is fun as well as therapeutic. Our focus is on activities and opportunities that help you build confidence, physical fitness, and spiritual centeredness. Innovative, proven addiction treatment programs are the key to meeting all of these goals in a mens rehab experience.

Some of our treatment options include:

Motivational Interviewing

Through motivational interviewing, a client-centered approach to therapy in assessing the motivation of our clients progress. It helps our men commit to the progressions through the stages of change. We carefully break the process down into a series of S.M.A.R.T. goals and work to increase our client’s progress and motivation, which helps our clients along the path of committing to change. By vocalizing and hearing themselves make these commitments, it helps them stand by their goals and work towards lasting sobriety.

Our team focuses on listening rather than intervening. By combining motivational interviewing with follow up therapy, support systems, and a variety of programs. All of which are also incorporated in addressing traumas and the various root causes of addiction. This helps pave the way for lasting sobriety and wellness.

Recovery Yoga

Yoga not only benefits your body, it has been shown to have a variety of positive effects on your mental and emotional wellbeing. At The Last Resort, we utilize recovery yoga to help our men improve their physical and mental wellbeing, which better equips them to achieve and maintain sobriety.

Yoga also has been shown to improve social health by creating a sense of belonging with your fellow participants and instructor. Recovery yoga has been shown to increase the level of gamma-aminobutyric acid, or GABA, a chemical in the brain that helps to regulate nerve activity, which can directly impact people with anxiety disorders.

Daily Meditation

Our daily meditation program is specifically designed to help men in addiction recovery. Meditation has been used for thousands of years to help people find calm, peace, and better explore their mental and emotional states. That’s why we offer an exercise program that allows the men in our program to adopt healthy habits and find a positive outlet for releasing stress. By understanding the connection between these elements, the men in our rehab program build strategies to cope with their thoughts that can then be incorporated into their everyday lives. In EMDR therapy, a therapist will guide the recovering person through traumatic life experiences and disturbing events. During this journey, the patient rhythmically moves their eyes back and forth, allowing them to focus on their emotions related to the traumatic events, which are often a major contributing factor of their addiction.

Nutrition counseling

A healthy diet can be key to making progress towards recovery. That’s why nutrition counseling is part of our holistic treatment philosophy. At The Last Resort, our professional nutritionists will recommend a balanced diet that meets our client’s needs. This diet will help their body perform basic functions, such as stabilizing blood sugar and getting enough sleep. In addition to learning about a balanced diet, our clients will also learn how to make meals that meet those guidelines so they can take their skills with them and put them into practice after completing their treatment program.
